PurpleRide For A Cure~In Memory Of Marge Kraynak
The 2009 event has ended but I wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone that participated & donated to this special cause in helping to raise monies & awareness of this deadly disease, cancer of the pancreas.
Hopefully we'll see even more of you at next year's event which we plan to have sometime in May of 2010.
Did you know that in America, one in three women and one in two men will be diagnosed with some form of cancer in their lifetime? Among cancer, pancreatic cancer is the 4th leading cause of death in the United States and the third leading cause of death among men ages 40-59. For all stages of pancreatic cancer combined, the five year survival rate is only 5% - the lowest survival rate of all major cancers. Despite these facts, pancreatic cancer receives the least amount of federal research funding of any major cancer.
My mother's faith was always very strong and through her I learned to "believe" and never give up hope for what you believe in. Because of what my mother instilled in me, I truly feel with your help, a difference can be made.............
one cure at a time!
